At most weddings, there are tables that may have name cards or special place settings. No matter how the bride and groom decide to decorate their seating arrangements, it is understood that the tables would look bare without wedding centerpieces. Though most traditionally, there would be a flower arrangement on each table, there are plenty of nontraditional options that will serve as a piece of unique decor and will make a great conversation piece.

One good idea for a nontraditional centerpiece is to use a candleholder of some sort. This is ideal for the decorator because candles can be made in any color, so no matter what, they will suit the color scheme. Likewise, they can be scented to make the room smell nice. Then, sophisticated, fun, or theme-appropriate designs can be chosen for the holder of the candle in order to make it fit into the rest of the decor and give the attendees something about which they can talk.

In the same vein, there is always the possibility of using clear containers and filling them with nearly anything. Rose petals, scented jelly balls, pebbles, and even colored sand are some ideas. These make it easy for the decorator to create a certain theme, whether it is tropical, colorful, or even seasonal, as the idea offers many colors with which to experiment. However, this option is not too over-the-top and thus maintains a sense of sophistication.

Then there is the possibility of using a cupcake pedestal. These can come in any color as well, and also provide the versatility of allowing the decorator to choose what kind of cupcake is displayed and how it is decorated. This idea works well because it can serve as an appetizer or dessert so the guests do not get hungry. In addition, it is also unique and nontraditional, so it will help to make the event memorable and set it apart from the rest.

No one ever said that flowers were the only option for wedding centerpieces. It is possible to stray just a bit from the norm with candles or glass containers. Couples can also go way over the top by using food or live animals as the center of attention for each table. Regardless, it is important to keep in mind the color scheme and to make sure that the centerpieces are sophisticated enough to blend in with the rest of the room.
