Systematic replacement of the toilet can be done alone. First things first, you should choose your toilet type, which can either be in one or two piece models. Then get these needed tools together in order to start your replacing the toilet procedure as well as the installation of a new toilet. Besides the toilet accessories, you also should have some shims of wood, silicone caulking and extra washers. Study The Basics of Replacing a Toilet Replacing the toilet is going to be done by the removal of your old toilet in the first place. Turn off the water supply. The last thing you need is water overflowing when you remove the old toilet. Take off the bolts holding the toilet bowl to its support. You should raise the old toilet from its bottom. Clean the spot thoroughly to prepare it for the installation of the fresh toilet. If there's any sort of damage on the floor, you should repair it before you restore the bowl. The flange on the floor should be free of damage. The waxy substance makes up the toilet bowl ring. Inspect it meticulously, and set it on the flange to see if it fits properly. Do not destruction it. This is done after you turn the toilet bowl the other way up. If the ring has a collar, make sure that it is facing from the toilet bowl. Seal the foundation of the bowl using caulking. Turn the toilet bowl right side up, and set it carefully on top of the flange. Next, bolt it on the floor. You may require another set of hands for this. After you've pressed it down steadfastly into place, try rocking it to see if it is firm or if it is wobbly. Tighten the bolts and ensure that the bowl will not shift from its place. You may need to use wood shims to make the toilet bowl level. Trim the shims so that they're not visible outside the toilet bowl's external design parameters. Tighten the nuts using your hands to avoid over tightening which possibly will crack the toilet bowl. The crucial thing to bear in mind is to make sure the bowl is not moving or wobbling. Water supply from the wall or from the floor can be changed by tightening the connecting nut at the end of the tube to either the tank or the bowl You should see a projection at the underside of the tank. Tank bolts should be attached in a way that they are facing down. Begin by placing washers on the protrusion. Then put in the bolts into the toilet tank. After the tank is positioned on the bowl, the bolts should be guided into the respective holes which will be tightened. Be sure that the tank is steady and positioned on a straight level. Right placement of the flexible water supply tube and the chain is needed. Now turn on the water supply again and test the flush system. Put on a bit of caulking if required.
